Adult education and formation has been an important part of the history of Southminster. Adult Sunday School meets every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in Forbes Parlor.

Childcare During Worship

Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in the worship service. We welcome their wiggles and spontaneous sounds. However, we know it can be tough for even the most mature kids to sit through an entire service. For that reason, we offer choices. For infants and toddlers, (preschoolers) we have trained childcare workers in the education wing, down the hall from the sanctuary. You may escort your children to their room prior to worship, sign them in with the childcare team, and sign them out there following the service. If you prefer your children may join you for all of worship or for the first part of worship.

Big Church “Time With Children” Enrichment

Early in the service, our pastor will invite the children to come forward for “Time with Children”. Our Child Care Team will bring in the children who are in a classroom. They will be joined by children who have been in the pews with their parents at the beginning of the service.

After a brief story or lesson, they may return to sit with you or they may accompany our youth leader and childcare workers to an age-appropriate room for playtime or enrichment for the remainder of the service. Weather permitting, they may be found playing in our fenced playground after worship (supervised at all times, of course).
